Ghana Police Service Denies Allegations On Bribery Surrounding Police Recruits Passing Out

The Ghana Police Service has strongly denied the bribery allegations being spread on social media. They’re calling it fake news. According to a social media user named Lawal Fuseini, recruits are supposedly being forced to pay large amounts of money to guarantee their graduation from training. But the police service is dismissing these claims.

In the allegations, circulated widely on various social media platforms, Lawal Fuseini implicated the Inspector-General of Police, alleging that recruits were instructed by “Chief Supt Dr WILSON ANIACE, commanding officer/Director of the Pwalugu Police Training School,” to make financial contributions for various purposes, including covering costs for police-branded exercise books, welfare, accoutrements, drugs, recruits’ levy, and appreciation among other things.

According to Lawal Fuseini, recruits were allegedly being pushed to make partial payments of these funds to take part in a supposed passing-out parade happening today,Wednesday February 21. The deadline for these payments was set for February 20.

The Ghana Police Service quickly dismissed these allegations as untrue, stating that they are spreading false information. They’re urging everyone to ignore these claims by Lawal and emphasizing their commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency in all their operations.

The denial from Ghana Police Service is meant to address any worries or uncertainties caused by the allegations, making sure that the public has confidence in the institution’s commitment to fair and unbiased recruitment procedures.
While investigations into the source of these false claims are ongoing, the Police Service has reassured the public that they are unwavering in their dedication to serving the nation with professionalism and integrity.
