Koforidua Police Training School Pass Out 187 Graduants

The Koforidua Police Training School recently held a passing-out parade for their inaugural cohort of 187 graduates and general recruits.

The passing-out parade was a fantastic display of the various training modules that the recruits completed within a span of six months. It truly reflected the innovative reforms in police training. It was a delight to see all the different skills and knowledge they acquired during that time.

COP Abiba Yaa Twumasi-Sarpong, the Parade Commander and Director General of Police Welfare at the Ghana Police Service, gave an amazing speech during the passing-out parade.
She really emphasized the significance of maintaining public trust and respecting the human rights of citizens, especially with the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 7, 2024.

COP Twumasi-Sarpong emphasized the significance of your graduation coinciding with Ghana’s upcoming General elections. She stressed the importance of upholding security laws during the elections while respecting the human rights of all citizens. It’s crucial to maintain public trust and meet the expectations of the people, especially during this crucial time.

She also reassured the public of comprehensive security measures being implemented in collaboration with sister security services to ensure a secure environment for the elections. She highlighted the establishment of an election security secretariat, led by Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, dedicated to overseeing all election-related security matters.

While speaking to the recruits, COP Twumasi-Sarpong shared the vision of the Ghana Police Service led by the Inspector General of Police.
The goal is to establish the service as the top institution in Ghana and a role model in Africa and beyond. She highlighted the positive results of the training reforms, with recruits demonstrating their skills and effectiveness when deployed to different stations.
