GTP Launches First Physical Retail Store In Accra, Ghana

West Africa’s Leading print and Textiles Brand- GTP has launched its first physical retail store in the heart of Accra.

The shop, located on Accra’s popular Osu Oxford Street was officially opened to customers on Friday, October 28th, 2023.

The launch was attended by some well-known personalities including Media Personality, Sika Osei, Fashion Designer, Elikem Kumordzie, Journalist, Israel Laryea, Beauty Queens, and some faithful customers and friends of the brand.

Speaking at the launch, the Head of Retail at GTP, Jessica Okwabi explained the choice of location for the shop stating;

“We decided Osu Oxford Street is the perfect place because this is a place that a lot of people frequent, but we also know that there’s high traffic in the area.”

According to her, the shop, which has been one-year in the making was designed to give customers a feel of traditional Ghanaian and African elements.

“We wanted to make sure that we stay true to the Ghanaian and African element of the brand, which was to make sure that we have traditional elements throughout the store,” she stated.

The launch event also featured GTP’s introduction of a ready-to-wear- collection for both men and women.

Designs from the collection were modelled for patrons to see, and would be available at the shop.


Introduced to the Ghanaian market in January 1966, GTP is the premier print and textile brand in West Africa. It is the first indigenous brand created in Ghana. The company’s goal is to bring high-quality African prints with Ghanaian roots that are culturally appropriate and uplift customers.
