Ghanaian Military Officer Commits Suicide; See Shocking Details

Issues related to suicide are getting out of hand. Ghanaians do not even know what is happening in the country. Sad news coming in from the Burma Camp confirmed the shocking death of one Military man. Ghanaian Military Officer commits suicide in his own apartment. According to the update, it was alleged that the military officer killed himself following an ongoing instigation involving fraud issues.

“SOLDIER ALLEGEDLY COMMITS SUICIDE

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) regrets to announce the death of a Soldier from the 48 Engineer
Regiment, Lance Corporal (L/Cpl) Sapak Dickson, whose lifeless body was found hanging on an
electrical cable, in the Unit’s guard room. The sad incident occurred on Friday 13 October 2023
at about 0530 hours.

A preliminary investigative report indicates that the Soldier who was under investigation for several
cases of fraud was placed in close custody on Wednesday 11 October 2023 at about 1930 hours
on a report to the Regiment for defrauding a Defence Civilian Staff.

A team from the Ghana Military Police and a CID personnel from the Teshie Divisional Police
Headquarters were dispatched to the scene for investigations.

The body of the deceased soldier has since been conveyed to the 37 Military Hospital mortuary.
GAF takes this opportunity to express its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues,
friends, and loved ones of the deceased soldier.” – Message confirmed.

Following the release of the official noticed, Ghanaians have reacted differently to the update as they link the situation to how difficult it is for an individual to join the military these days. People are made to pay huge amounts of money before they are recruited into the military force. Hence, they will pass out and come and look for money to settle their debts.
